Film Distributor

Film Distributor

BH Productions

Blumhouse Productions is an American film production company, founded by Jason Blum in 2000 and is mostly known for its production of low-budget horror movies. Blumhouse has produced iconic horror films such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious and Sinister franchises and closely focuses on the supernatural side of horror films. Blumhouse is a very successful production company and in 2014 they produced an Academy Award nominated film which helped Blum receive a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Picture and the drama film Whiplash went on to be very successful. Blumhouse Productions has deals with Universal Pictures as well as Paramount Pictures and these two big, main companies help the low-budget production team grow bigger and better and produce some very successful and spooky horror films.
Blumhouse Productions produce movies independently and are released usually by Paramount Pictures to increase the success of the film and its overall gross. Blumhouse's success first began in 2009 through the production of Paranormal Activity, this film was unbelievably cheap to produce costing only around $15,000 and when released by Paramount grossed over $193million worldwide! Success quickly followed after that when a budgeted $1.5million Insidious grossed $97milion worldwide and then Sinister followed with a $3million budget to a $77million gross. Very, very successful. Since Paranormal Activity, Blumhouse has worked with skilled directors such as James Wan, Scott Derrickson and Stiles White producing most of the modern successful and frighten horror films most popular to worldwide audiences. In other forms of entertainment, to booster its success, Blumhouse opened up the "Blumhouse of Horrors" which is an interactive haunted house experience in L.A on Halloween 2012 for the bravest of horror fans and helped promote the production team and its popularity and success.
To justify why Blumhouse Productions would be a good distributor for our film, "The Remembering", the American company produce low-budget horror films with skill and then pass them onto bigger companies to distribute them worldwide to create a high gross. Due to our film having a packed storyline full of paranormal events, Blumhouse would expertly produce it to success and with the direction of top directors such as James Wan and Scott Derrickson, The Remembering will be full of jump scares and apparitions that are guaranteed to frighten and grip worldwide audiences. Another reason Blumhouse would be a good choice is that they focus on the supernatural sub-genre, which is the intended genre for The Remembering, so would ultimately be the best choice as they're specifically successful within this genre and knowledgeable on how to make it as frightening as possible. Blumhouse's success and popularity grew in such a short space of time and could equally help Moonhound Pictures grew to be successful as well and by being linked to big companies such as Universal and Paramount Pictures, success is inevitable.
